“I created these paintings with a loose idea of representing my relationship with Margate during the winter. As summer’s excitement fades away, there is a quietness that descends upon the town – an often comforting and peaceful blanket, and sometimes a stark loneliness.

I worked on the paintings during the winter, and as they developed, I felt themes of duality, self-reflection and isolation emerge.”
